California Governor Gavin Newsom Plans to Release 18,000 Convicted Felons by August

Taking good advantage of the cagey political slogan “never let a good crisis go to waste,” Governor Gavin Newsom has now decided to provide convicted felons with the opportunity for early release from prison. Gov. Newsom says he will only release “low-risk” felons and that he’s taking the action because he needs to protect prison inmates from contracting the coronavirus.
