California Senate Republicans Earn Perfect Score For Supporting Small Businesses

SACRAMENTO – Today, the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), a small business organization with thousands of California members, unveiled its 2016 legislative voting record. Every member of the Senate Republican Caucus earned an impressive perfect score for supporting small businesses.

“I am honored that my colleagues and I have once again earned recognition for supporting small businesses, which are the backbone of our economy,” said Senate Republican Leader Jean Fuller (R-Bakersfield). “During this past legislative session, our state unfortunately faced an onslaught of job crushing mandates. Senate Republicans are unified in our fight against these bad policies and in being champions for improving our state’s business climate and Californian’s quality of life.”

“While NFIB is a non-partisan organization, it cannot be ignored that every single Republican State Senator received a perfect 100% NFIB Voting Record for consistently voting with small business,” said NFIB/CA State Executive Director Tom Scott. “In a caucus as diverse as the Senate Republicans, representing very different and unique districts, it is encouraging to see an issue which they appear in perfect alignment: protecting small businesses. Our 22,000 small business members across the state rely on the steadfast support demonstrated by California Senate Republicans in order to grow their businesses and stop additional taxes, mandates, and complex regulations in this state.”

Members of the California Legislature were judged on bills that are considered important to the vitality of California’s small business climate. To review the 2016 legislative voting record, see NFIB’s website.
