SACRAMENTO – Today, Senate Republican Leader Shannon Grove (R-Bakersfield) welcomed Senator Brian Dahle (R-Bieber) to the California State Senate at a swearing-in ceremony where California Insurance Commissioner Ricardo Lara administered the oath of office. Senator Dahle will serve the residents of California’s 1st Senate District which covers all or portions of 11 counties, including Alpine, El Dorado, Lassen, Modoc, Nevada, Placer, Plumas, Sacramento, Shasta, Siskiyou and Sierra.
“I welcome Brian to the Senate Republican Caucus. Brian is a common-sense conservative and a tax fighter who cares deeply for Californians. I have a great working relationship with Brian as we once served together in the California State Assembly. I know Brian will continue to serve his constituents with honor and distinction.
“Brian will bring strength to the Senate Republican Caucus as we proudly represent nearly 11 million hardworking Californians. We will be the voice for the forgotten and those who unfortunately can no longer afford to live or work in the Golden State,” said Senate Republican Leader Shannon Grove.
“Thank you to Senator Grove for her leadership. As a new member of the Senate Republican Caucus and a newly-elected Senator for California’s 1st Senate District, there is much work to do. I look forward to working across the aisle to protect our communities from wildfires with vegetation management, support our businesses, and promote rural economies. Together, Senate Republicans will work hard to represent many Californians who’ve been hurt by bad legislation,” said Senator Brian Dahle.
