Senate Republican Leader Scott Wilk (R-Santa Clarita) released the following statement in response to Governor Newsom’s State of the State address:
“Last year, the governor struck out at Dodger Stadium, and this year, he is using smoke and mirrors to hide what we all know – the state of our state is a mess under a one-man rule. Newsom should have delivered his remarks in Orange County because this speech was Fantasyland, not reality.
“No figure or price tag is going to change the reality facing everyday Californians. Want to buy a home? Better have 800 grand. Need to drive to school, work, or to the doctor? Fork over 80 bucks to fill up your tank. Worried about homelessness? Don’t worry. The state just threw $17 billion at it for it to get worse.
“There can be no more excuses. California families, communities, and students deserve better.”
